Ashley Madekwe and Ashley Leggat
Madekwe is from a multi-cultural family. Born in South London. Both her parents were both English. She was born in the southern part of London Council Estate. She was a student at The Brit School aged 14. She pursued acting studies in The Royal Academy of Dramatic Art, London. During her time at the academy, she appeared in several stage productions, including the King Henry V playing Princess Katherine and Wuthering Heights portraying Catherine Earnshaw.
Madekwe's acting career started with Storm Damage. In the years since, Madekwe has appeared in Teachers as well as Doctors. Madekwe's first film of debut was the Woody Allen 2007 film Cassandra's Dream. She starred alongside Colin Farrell & Ewan MacGregor. The following year she was cast as Elisha (a BBC Three drama-pilot) in West 10 LDN. Additionally she appeared in Trexx as Ollie and six episodes in Flipside. She played Bambi as Bambi in The ITV2 series Secret Diary of a Call Girl. Madekwe was also a part of the comedy of 2008 How to Alienate and Lose Friends. Performance credits for Madekwe include Little Sweet Thing and Flight Path.
Madekwe's US debut was in 2009 when she appeared on the thriller The Beautiful Life. The show aired just two episodes before it was ended on The CW. Ashley Davenport appeared in ABC drama Revenge from February 2011. Following her appearance as a regular on the initial two seasons it was announced in May 2013 that she would quit the show following her appearance on the premiere episode in the season's third. In the TV series Salem in 2014, she portrayed Tituba between 2014 and 2016. Madekwe, her longtime partner, Iddo, married Madekwe in June of 2012. Both of them have been in Secret Diary of a Call Girl. They also starred as partners in Salem.
Ashley Leggat, an actress who was twice nominated for the Gemini Award, is a member of a large Hamilton family. She joined her parents, Roy and Patty and four older brothers -Rob, Brett, and twins Todd and Bram. Ashley's four brothers, who were all extremely active, took part in hockey in the winter months and played baseball in the summer months, which means she basically grew up in arenas and baseball parks. Ashley was not a walker, but she was a dancer. In the age of two and half she discovered Baby Ballet. Ashley was enthralled by dance after this. Ashley performed in competitive tap, jazz and ballet in high divisions. The top soloist at major competitions such as International Dance Challenge, Showstoppers 56-7-8 Showtime, Flash Dance, Dance, Dance, Dance, were all awarded to Ashley.
